The Honduran Rainforest
(Heart-Centered Meditation)
Imagine you are in a safe place; for you it may be a beach, or a lake, or even walking along in a Honduran Rainforest. Feel free to share this guided meditation with others.
The Honduran Rainforest - Transcript
“Take a deep breath in, and with each exhalation imagine a wave of relaxation going through you.
Take a second breath in.
As you exhale, imagine, feel, or see yourself walking through a cool, mossy rainforest; the sounds of a far-off waterfall are in the background.
You take a nice, deep breath in, and the oxygen in your lungs feels so clean, opening your lungs even more now. Perhaps you feel the ground mossy beneath your feet, sponge-like but firm; You smell the lush, green world all about you, and your fingers graze a beautiful orchid.
You see a small wood bridge, and you test it first and, finding it’s sturdy, you walk across to the other side to an even more lush forest.
Imagine you can bring your mind to your heart; imagine breathing energy through your heart … there is a stillness in the rainforest, as there is in your heart. Some people envision breath moving in, and out as they breathe.
Imagine breathing the silence of the rainforest into your heart, bringing calming energy to every cell, every muscle in your body, healing energy, so breathe in, and out …
You come to a calm river. You could sit there if you wish, and just watch it flow by. You notice there’s a boat with a paddle in it nearby. You put the boat in the water and slowly begin rowing across the river.
Place your hand to your heart to keep your awareness there, as you breathe normally and naturally … When your mind wanders, as it almost always will, bring it back to your heart, and breathe … in less than a minute, you’ll begin to feel that shift, as you breathe in, and out.
Getting more, and more relaxed … and then your mind wanders, and you can bring it back to your heart. You cross the river onto land, pulling the boat up onto the sand behind you.
You walk up a hill across an old, worn path and see chimney smoke rising from a white cottage. You open the old door and find your favorite meal just waiting for you. As you eat it, you find yourself becoming sleepy, and perhaps you are even deeper relaxed, now.
Letting go. The bed is nearby, and you find yourself lying down … breathing in, and out.
Letting go.
Now.
